Postgraduate Program in Smart Cities

The importance of urban intelligence in constructing cities is now an indisputable reality. Smart cities, able to respond in an integrated manner and in real-time to di­fferent urban challenges, cities that promote inclusive and efficient solutions in the use of resources, but that also generate added value and create new markets.

The Postgraduate Program in Smart Cities aims to prepare professionals able to participate in the construction of analytical cities by developing innovative solutions of collection, processing and analysis of city data to promote a better governance in parallel with a more active and participatory citizenship.

With the proposed study plan, this innovative Postgraduate Program is set on a modern structure that combines the several fields that support the information systems of the Smart Cities with the real challenge that the construction entails.

This program is coordinated by Miguel de Castro Neto, Smart Cities’ Personality of the Year of the Green Business Week 2017.

Who is it for?

The Postgraduate Program in Smart Cities is aimed at those who want to actively participate in this process, particularly in the creation of innovative information systems in the context of urban analytics that take advantage of the latest developments in participatory citizenship, open data, mobile computing and the Internet of Things.

Its main target audience are managers, technical staff in municipalities, government or private sectors, and other professionals that wish to acquire skills and knowledge in information systems for Smart Cities, using the most advanced technologies, data collection, analysis and processing methods.

Goals

The Postgraduate Program in Smart Cities aims to:
