Roche Diagnostics

PROJETO Individual

Health Information Management

Goal

  • Given the various dimensions of healthcare, the devices and testing sector has faced several obstacles in its development. These include the imposition, by the public sector, of the criterion of lowest price in procurement processes for institutions of the National Health Service, as well as the level of service provided by entities regarding equipment maintenance and utilization. Often, the introduction of new technologies with clear benefits for patients and innovations that can result in improved health outcomes is not properly recognized.

To address this context, we propose a design thinking-based approach aimed at exploring perceptions and attitudes towards value creation and decision-making in the context of In Vitro Diagnostics (IVD). The project will be conducted by two healthcare management specialists and a professor at the Nova University of Lisbon. Two stages will be carried out: a qualitative study and a literature review on the "value of diagnosis." The objective is to gain a clear understanding of existing decision-making models and identify new approaches to value creation based on literature and interviews with experts.

Design Thinking Workshop "In Vitro Diagnosis: Evaluation of Technologies for Reimbursement/Financing Purposes" (Initiative) (Training)

Goal

  • The objective of this project is to develop a Design Thinking Workshop in partnership with the National Institute of Health Dr. Ricardo Jorge (INSA). This workshop will promote interaction among the stakeholders involved, aiming to achieve consensus on priorities and identify solutions that can drive access, innovation, and improvement of health indicators related to in vitro diagnostics tests.Based on previous studies, the need to implement a rapid funding/co-payment process for these solutions has been identified to enable greater access of citizens to these tests, resulting in health benefits. Furthermore, the introduction of innovation in the healthcare system can generate cost savings and improve health indicators.
